About the Site
This site is my sandbox for developing a holistic philosophy of how PR is being forever changed by social media. In a world where everyone is a broadcaster, controlling a message is much more difficult, if not impossible. What is needed is a fundamental shift in how we communicate our messages and how we think about consumer messaging.
What I am trying to do here is as much about learning as it is about teaching. I want to be called out on my mistakes, and challenged on my beliefs. I don’t know that anyone has really got the answer yet. My hope is that we can find it together.
About me
I’m a public relations and web strategist with a passion for social media. Over the course of my career, I co-founded a theatre company, which is now one of the largest professional theatre companies in Ottawa, worked as a digital strategist for an independent PR firm, and led communications for one of the largest digital agencies in Canada. I’ve worked with clients ranging from political candidates (something I’ll never do again) to some of the biggest brands in the world.
