Even the best idea is doomed to fail in the hands of someone incompetent. Likewise, a non-idea can't be made into an idea even with the best.

I likewise, have heard the rumour of the moon being the new earth.

I have heard dozens of friends and co-workers over many years describe ideas to me that, once asked to sit down and hash out anything from a business plan to a simple cost-benefit analysis, fall apart upon inspection; the people that is, not the ideas. It is the person behind the idea who earns my trust, not an idea, and one who doesn't bat an eyelash at putting a plan down on paper will get my investment every time, no matter how cockamamy the initial idea.
PS I hear the moon is the new Earth.

Sharing ideas can be great for feedback, depending on the type of idea. It can expose the half ideas that are not real ideas and flesh out the ideas that are actually decent.

Half-ideas aren't a problem on their own. But if you've got no plans to iterate and turn it into a full idea you could be in trouble. I think a lot of these ideas come to life when people refuse to share their ideas with others out of fear. They try to get their idea out there as quickly as possible and miss out on the great feedback you get when you share ideas.
